Majalah Rolling Stone kembali membuat daftar 100 penyanyi terbaik sepanjang masa; tentunya versi mereka.

Mau tau komentar Rollingn Stone mengenai cara Bono bernyanyi?

“50 per cent Guinness, 10 per cent cigarettes — and the rest is religion”.

Komentar lengkapnya silahkan beli majalah Rolling Stone dooong… Tapi versi Indonesia-nya belum tau kapan terbitnya.

Kalau Bono ada di urutan ke-32, siapa saja Top 10-nya? Ini dia:

  1. Aretha Franklin
  2. Ray Charles
  3. Elvis Presley
  4. Sam Cooke
  5. John Lennon
  6. Marvin Gaye
  7. Bob Dylan
  8. Otis Redding
  9. Stevie Wonder
  10. James Brown

Hmmm… penyanyi era oma-opa kita ternyata…. (kecuali Stevie Wonder..)

I love Bono. I love U2. I think they are one of the most influential band in the world since 80′s and be appreciated for decades more as Chris Martin of Coldplay says they will be. I think the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time list by Rolling Stones isn’t perfect but it has relative value. however I’m pretty disappointed Bono didn’t make top twenty. Elvis Prestley and Paul McCartney are respected for their contribution in the business but they are supposed to be in the lower position than Etta James or James Brown who both had undeniable talents. I’m pretty shock as Christina Aguilera appears on the list while Celine Dion doesn’t. well, I respect Aguilera also. I think she’s one of greatest voice of our time…

Mama Aretha deserves the place. No one can ever sing like her singing.

@nighthawk 1954
Oh.. I really think Etta should be on the top 20 at least! I even want her respectfully to be on the top 10.
